If you are a student or university in need of a practicum site or are interested in service-learning/experiential learning or faculty led international programs, keep reading!

We have partnered with universities across the country and work together to ensure that their students are producing outcomes and meeting competencies/standards required for their individual programs. We've hosted teams of students in many fields: nutrition, public health, education, architecture/design, engineering, and more.

Here is a sample guideline of a practicum/service-learning experience:

The AIDS pandemic has ravaged rural villages across eSwatini leaving more orphans than potential caretakers in its wake.  This has led to a child-headed household phenomenon where the eldest child assumes the role as the head of the household despite lacking access to education, healthcare, and basic needs. The volunteer will support the work of Give Hope, Fight Poverty by addressing the needs of the children, designing new programs, and evaluating current programs in their field of interest/experience.

Specific volunteer responsibilities could include:
·        Communications: Identifying and recruiting other service-learning volunteers.
Performing community outreach in the US.
Building partnerships with schools and businesses.

·        Leadership: Designing, implementing, and managing the creation of an official Student Organization on campus.

·        Planning & Management: Research, design, and implement a program to address one of the many challenges the orphans face.
Conduct literature review of successful projects implemented globally
Write a proposal of a program to roll out in eSwatini
Redesign the program with the feedback incorporated.
Fundraise for the successful implementation of the program

Testimonial from Natalie Rowell (MPH Practicum Volunteer 2025)
"I traveled to Eswatini in March with Give Hope, Fight Poverty. This 10-day service-learning trip and subsequent practicum experience was one of the most invaluable, formative, and life-changing experiences of my life. I learned far more than I anticipated. I was challenged. I was poured into. I had fun. I built relationships. I laughed. I sang and danced. I experienced a new culture.
Being surrounded by professionals and peers who are working and determined to make a difference in the lives of orphans in Eswatini taught me practical skills but also drew me to be more compassionate and eager to make a difference. More so, the people of Eswatini touched my heart, and their joy has changed my life. It was humbling and encouraging to see how GHFP has changed the lives of so many children over so many years.
I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. I cannot wait to go back to Eswatini.
